As World War II raged on in the 1940's, we Americans needed to know how the war was going, the fate of our troops, and how it would ultimately affect us back here in the states.

The demand for this information gave birth to partnerships between local TV stations and the major broadcasting companies CBS, ABC, NBC and later FOX. These partnerships are called TV Affiliates. These diverse partnerships have grown to over 1000 stations covering over 200 Television markets.

An all important variable that contributes to the success of the affiliate station is the person chosen to voice the promos.
